A: Together, we have formed a business entity called Synergy Private Health, LLC that is responsible for providing the member benefits, the amenities as described on the website, www.synergyprivatehealth.com, as well as the specialty medical care and services when needed through Newton-Wellesley Hospital. The collaboration provides opportunities to offer you a special, personalized and comprehensive approach to healthcare.
A: It doesn’t change, but rather expands the network. SPH members will have the option to receive concierge level service and priority scheduling with leading specialists in the Newton-Wellesley community, as well as connectivity to more than 50,000 Castle Connolly Top Doctors® throughout the country.
A: Dr. Parks, Dr. Pardo, and the practice will work with any hospital that a Member requests. In addition to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Dr. Parks is also on staff at Mass General Hospital. Dr. Parks has been an integral part of the Boston healthcare community for over 10 years and has connections with doctors at most of the hospitals in the area. The practice will work with any hospital team on discharge planning and follow up. Ultimately, our goal is for our Members to get the best care experience possible, no matter where they are.
A: No. Membership fees are payable to Synergy Private Health, LLC for the amenities and enhancements associated with this Membership program, which are not professional services. Accordingly, the Membership fees are not covered by your health insurance plan and are your individual responsibility.
A: A qualified physician will cover for either Dr. Parks, or Dr. Pardo, when necessary, but both doctors will almost always be personally available by phone or the secure messaging app, Spruce, to respond to your medical concerns. *
A: Synergy Private Health is located at 300 Boylston Street, Newton, MA 02459.
A: Yes, both physicians will only see concierge patients.
A: Yes, there is a 20% discount on additional Memberships for spouses and family members.
A: Yes. Insurance applies in the same way that it does in a non-concierge practice. Professional and medical services will be provided entirely through the medical practice, and the practice will bill you or your health insurance plan for those professional services. The Membership fees for the concierge service do not pay for any professional services and, therefore, are not covered by insurance whatsoever. You will continue to be responsible for any co-payments, coinsurance fees, and deductibles in accordance with your plan’s benefit design.
A: Since your Membership Fee does not cover or pay for any Professional Services provided by the practice, the Membership Fee is not covered by insurance. The amenities and enhancements provided with your Membership are distinct from any services covered by your health insurance plan. However, in your discretion, you can submit the Membership Fee to any flexible spending account, health reimbursement account, or medical savings account of your employer in which you participate, but the Membership Program makes no representation that any part of the Membership Fee will qualify to be reimbursed from any such account. It is the Member’s responsibility to receive approval from their benefits administrator as to the amount that may be reimbursable.
*In cases where Dr. Parks is unable to communicate due to vacation, sickness, or other reason, communication with another practitioner or covering physician will be arranged.
