March 2021: Welcoming Spring and Much More at Synergy Private Health

As we welcome the arrival of Spring this month, we would also like to welcome our newest members of the Synergy Private Health team.

Austin Pasquale joins us as Medical Assistant - a role to which he brings significant primary care experience and expertise, as well as his excellent bedside manner.  In fact, Austin is a “Pillar of Excellence” award winner within the Mass General Brigham system; he receives this honor for his outstanding work, including his selfless service to the hospital community during the worst of the pandemic.  He has already become an integral part of our team. We are fortunate to have him at Synergy and look forward all our members having the opportunity to meet him!

Please join us in congratulating our Nurse Practitioner, Kaitlyn Peters, on her new ‘unofficial’ Synergy team member, Brendan Thomas Peters, who was born on February 4th and weighed a healthy 7 lbs 12 oz. All the Peters are doing great and enjoying this precious time together.

We would also like to thank those of you who joined us for our special February / Heart Month cooking event featuring our young chefs and food-as-medicine trainees. Dr. Parks’ daughter Adélie (center) and Dr. Pardo’s daughter C.J. (left) were excellent sous-chefs, and we hope they inspired you to share the cooking experience with those you love. We also appreciated the excellent didactic during the class by Dr. Parks on the tremendous impact of plant-based eating to improve cardiovascular health.

Look for future guest chefs and more great topics to come in 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Status

As a reminder, we remain in Phase 2 of vaccine distribution. We will continue to send key updates via regular emails to our members.

Recent changes included:

  • Veterans enrolled in the VA Healthcare System are now eligible to schedule their vaccine at the VA Hospital.

  • In addition to the state website, eligible individuals can now book their vaccines directly with participating pharmacies.

  • Mass General Brigham (MGB) has resumed vaccine scheduling for eligible patients who will be contacted via Patient Gateway (in addition to text / phone / email) to schedule their appointment. In addition, we continue to regularly scout our members’ eligibility to proactively contact and schedule them whenever possible.

To make a vaccine appointment at a state or pharmacy run location, you may follow the links above or call 2-1-1.  At this time, our office is unable to schedule appointments for you as you will need to complete a self-attestation to book your vaccine.  You will NOT need a doctor’s note or other documentation to show you have two or met eligibility criteria.
