Synergy Updates on COVID Vaccine, Importance of Heart Health and Virtual Cooking Classes

We know that obtaining a COVID vaccine continues to be at the top of our members’ minds. We hope that those of you who attended our related Town Hall found it helpful. We can assure you that we will continue to assist our members in acquiring the vaccine, as soon as they are eligible, in any way we can.

Please note that as of February 1st, depending on your eligibility, you have the opportunity to have your vaccination scheduled at a Mass General Brigham site via your Patient Gateway.  As soon as you are eligible, you will be notified immediately via Patient Gateway and/or by our office. Scheduling your vaccine appointment can be done by you through your Patient Gateway account, or please feel free to contact our office and we would be happy to assist you in scheduling. For those members who need assistance setting up their Patient Gateway account, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will provide help.

Additionally, we understand that the state of MA will offer more vaccination centers at which eligible candidates can schedule their own vaccine appointments.

A map and downloadable list of vaccination sites can be accessed here:https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-vaccine-locations-for-individuals-in-phase-1#find-a-location-to-get-vaccinated-if-eligible-

Clicking on your desired location on the map will provide you with the related link to schedule your vaccine appointment.

We would also like to recognize that February is National Heart Month and an opportunity to reiterate the importance of both awareness of cardiovascular disease and of using lifestyle to prevent and reverse these conditions. This topic could not be more relevant than in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic as we have seen the unfortunate impact of cardiovascular comorbidities on an individual’s risks for serious illness and complications of COVID-19.

Please join us for a very special February cooking class, which will be dedicated to heart-healthy ingredients including foods that lower blood pressure and cholesterol (invitation to follow)!

We encourage all our members to take advantage of the many benefits offered to you via our Lifestyle Medicine initiatives to include our monthly Culinary Medicine classes, stress management via our Mindful Mondays guided mindfulness sessions, health coaching via the SENS program, and more.

We will continue to work closely with our members to partner with you across all the dimensions of your care including vaccines, all aspects of your preventive care, and anything that can help you thrive.
